Hiking
In 1998 Almelo was flooded. Almelo is the lowest part in the area. To prevent flooding in the future, the Doorbraak was constructed. The Doorbraak is a 13 km long dug waterway with a flow profile of approximately 75 m wide. Frog ponds were constructed every 400 meters, among other things for the great crested newt.
