The husband of Saint Elisabeth, to whom the convent was dedicated, died of the plague. She dedicated the rest of her short life to caring for the sick, including the plague. She was the founder of the Grey Sisters, who were the only ones who dared to care for plague victims in the Middle Ages.

Hiking

The Plague House is located in the extensive old monastery garden of the care center. Here, sufferers of the plague and other contagious diseases were admitted and cared for in isolation. Built in 1682. An attractive building that is listed as a monument and was completely renovated in 2010. You can now go here for meetings, training and small events.
