Pearl of the Ammerland
The Zwischenahner Meer is also known as the "Pearl of the Ammerland" - and rightly so. Nestled in a beautiful natural landscape, Lower Saxony's third largest inland lake is a popular destination for guests from near and far. The 550 hectares of lake surface are also an El Dorado for water sports enthusiasts. The lake is up to 5.50 meters deep, but there is usually a meter-thick layer of sludge underneath.
