Hiking
Galiga Lake is one of the largest lakes in the area, almost all of which are artificial.
They were created over half a century ago as a water reserve for agriculture, with excavations and embankments in areas where slight natural basins facilitated their construction.
Many of these lakes are barely visible, even when the road passes by, hidden by hedges on the embankments or, as at Galiga, by thick brambles.
Some (like Vetrice) have changed their intended use to various recreational areas, while others, like Galiga, have instead become wild.

Mountain biking
The lake was conceived for sport fishing and duck hunting on the Galiga estate. It integrates nicely into the landscape and is worth a stop.
