The General Sherman Tree is the most voluminous living tree on earth. It is a giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) and is located in the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park in the US state of California. It is estimated to be between 1900 and 2500 years old. The world's only replica is located in the Ellerhoop Arboretum! The trunk of the "General Sherman Tree" was modeled on a 1:1 scale up to a height of 11 meters.
