Burgruine Landskrone, also known as Landskron Castle, is a medieval hill castle in Carinthia, Austria. It dates back to the early 14th century and sits atop a rock cone at an elevation of 658 meters (2,159 ft). Over the centuries, it has been owned by various noble families, including the Habsburgs and the Counts of Ortenburg www-tollroads.com

Hiking

The climb to the Landskrone ruins is a challenge. A path leads you from Heppingen, along several switchbacks, to the ruins at an elevation of 272 meters. You pass the St. Martin's Fireplace and the Maria Hilf Chapel, from where the views extend far into the Ahr Valley. At the summit cross, you can recover from the climb, breathe deeply, and take in the expansive view. It's fantastic 😊
