The less frequented eastern summit of Suilven. More exposed, more technical, and 8m lower than the western summit. Relatively straightforward until the final summit ascent, with optional, if not particularly clean, scrambling on the way.

From the col before the summit itself, follow the path up. There are possibilities on the left as you walk underneath the summit. The route I recorded has a different ascent and descent route, and either should be OK for competent and experienced scramblers. Both feature a move I wouldn't grade as scrambling, though.

For the ascent I followed the path contouring the southern side of the summit till it suddenly stops. The path is pretty exposed. Where it stops, there is a section on the left that can be scrambled up, with a superb horizontal crack for hands - however there's nothing nice for feet, so requires a bit of a mantle. Probably OK on descent as there is a higher ledge for feet that can be lowered down from if you can get into that position safely.

Descent route followed what there is of the summit path to a cairn and some abseil tat. Awkward and steep for one move, I pivoted to the left (facing downhill) on a horizontal flake and lowered myself. There are some thin shelves to the right that may work if you can get onto them safely. This probably makes a slightly easier way up, but is difficult to find from below.

There may be other options as well, though some more chimney-like cracks/grooves I took a look at looked pretty grotty. Whatever the case, either way up/down is a serious proposition if taken as a scramble and should not be undertaken lightly.

Meall Meadhonach is the rock tower at the eastern end of Suilven, and it gives an unusual perpective on the rest of the mountain. As already described it is a scramble to get up there, and sections are pretty exposed so this is not the sort of place to be if you are uncomfortable with heights and exposure. The top can best be described as Airy, it's a small table at the top of a giant spike which is completely different to the big dome at the other end of Suilven.
