The parish church of San Giovanni in Petroio, located in the hamlet of Petroio and belonging to the municipality of Barberino di Mugello, stands on a hill in a panoramic position not far from the southern shore of Lake Bilancino. The Parish Church has been documented with certainty since 1097 and probably stood along the route of an ancient road that connected Florence with Bologna.
From here you can also enjoy a beautiful view of the artificial lake of Bilancino.
