The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Slavery is a Marian church located in A Escravitude, a village in the parish of Santa María de Cruces, Padrón (province of A Coruña, Galicia, Spain). The Portuguese Way of the Camino de Santiago passes next to the temple.

Tradition relates two events that determined the construction of the temple. The first of these occurred in 1582, when Juan Pérez Mondragón, rector of the parish of Cruces, was about to be crushed to death by a tree. After freeing himself, as a sign of gratitude to the Virgin Mary, he had an image of the Virgin and Child carved, which was placed over a fountain that was located in the place, known since then as the Holy Fountain.

The second incident occurred in 1732, when a man from the region of Salnés, who suffered from dropsy, was on his way with his wife and daughter to the hospital in Santiago de Compostela. Passing by the Holy Fountain, he drank its water and asked the Virgin for help, and was healed three days later. Legend has it that he exclaimed his gratitude to the Virgin for healing him "from the slavery" of his illness, from which the name of the sanctuary would derive. In gratitude he donated the cart and oxen. As the news spread, the fountain began to attract devotees seeking healing, which also brought with it an increase in donations.

With these contributions, a chapel was built where the image was housed, today called Our Lady of Slavery, and over time it was extended to the current church. The notarial document of the painting of the main altarpiece dates the completion of the work in 1743. In 1885, thanks to the funding of a wealthy Galician from America, a second tower was built symmetrical to the one that the temple had since 1743, which is how the building looks today.
