Sometimes it's good to look back, because the view of the barrage is fantastic. The Melk power station is a run-of-river power station on the Danube in the immediate vicinity of the famous Melk Abbey. In order to have as little impact on the landscape as possible, the electricity generated is not transported via overhead lines, but via underground cables in the dyke on the right bank to the high-voltage grid.
