Our healthy mother plant quarters are 12 hectares in size and contain over 2000 species and varieties. This is where we get our cuttings and grafts, so that we can guarantee the best quality.

The grafting of rhododendrons has a long tradition. In the past, the method was mainly used because most varieties showed poor root formation. This has now been brought under control, so the reason is different today: In breeding, the breeder usually selects the seedlings according to criteria that are above ground, such as growth, leaf color, shoots and mainly the flowers; rarely according to the strong roots. With the variety ‘Cunningham’s White’ we have an excellent, robust rootstock whose positive properties are transferred to the plant. This means that even the varieties with genetically weak roots are vigorous, healthy, frost-hardy and long-lived. This hidden quality means that the end customer can enjoy the plant for a long time.
