A doctor in Bedlington for over 50 years. He treated injured miners, climbing down mine shafts to help them. He also treated people for free if they could not afford to pay.
Middle: Mary Weightman MBE
Mary Weightman set up an animal clinic that became the People's Animal Welfare Service (PAWS). A tireless fundraiser for the lives and rights of animals, Mary was directly involved for many years, and received many thanks including an MBE for her work.
