‘Vihara Dharma Bhakti‘, also called ‘Kim Tek le‘, in the Chinatown district of Glodok was first completed in 1650 and is the oldest Chinese temple in Jakarta. At that time, the temple was called ‘Kwan Im Teng‘.After the events of 1965 with the attempted coup and the subsequent “mass purge” with the imprisonment and murder of many people, the Chinese-born citizens were advised to integrate more into Indonesia. Among other things, it was also recommended that the Chinese names of the temples be changed and given a Buddhist name. The name ‘Kim Tek Ie‘ was changed to ‘Vihara Dharma Bhakti‘. The translated Indonesian name is ‘Kelenteng Keutamaan Emas‘ (Golden Virtue Temple).issuu.com/perdanakurniawanarta8502/docs/batavia_perdana_content/s/11283638
