Te Aroha Railway Bridge was the only swing span bridge on NZ railways. It was fixed shut in the 1930s and replaced by a new concrete structure in the 1960s. It's now part of the Hauraki Rail trail and is used by pedestrians and cyclists to cross over the Waihou River.
