Hermann August Freiherr von Münchhausen (* 5 June 1856 in Bodenwerder; † 9 January 1922 in Bockstadt) was a German landowner and horse breeder. He was the son of the manor owner Alexander Freiherr von Münchhausen. Münchhausen was a member of the Prussian military and retired as a lieutenant colonel. He then went to America and met his wife Annette (née Estep) there. The couple married in New York City in 1885, but then returned to Germany. The two had five daughters together.
