At the edge of the forest is the resting place of the former forester Adolf Freiherr von Amelunxen (+1957) and his wife. This place is called the "Grave of the Old Baron".
On his obituary he is described as a man who showed ruthless hardness towards himself throughout his life, but warm-hearted kindness towards everyone else: "Spartan simplicity, uncompromising love of truth, with deep faith and fear of God, characterized his character. He was always on duty throughout his life, his greatest happiness was fulfilling his duty. Despite this, his cheerful heart never let his sunny humor dry up."
