    General Information:
The Falkenstein Cycle Path follows the former railway line of the Falkensteiner Bockerl, northeast of Regensburg, where the Falkensteiner Bockerl steamed along from 1913 to 1984. With its fragrant, shady forest passages, impressive mountain panoramas, and towering rock faces, the Falkenstein Cycle Path is one of the most beautiful excursion routes in the Upper Bavarian Forest. Railway relics, rest areas, and experience stations line the route. The route, which runs through the districts of Regensburg and Cham, passes through diverse and charming regions of the Upper Palatinate. Tranquil, pristine, and rich in both history and art, the railway route harks back to an eventful era of the 20th century. Only gentle inclines through gently rolling hills make the cycle path ideal for leisure and recreational cyclists, as well as families. Relaxation is guaranteed away from traffic.

A very beautiful railway line cycle path with a moderate gradient and almost entirely surrounded by beautiful nature. There are rest stops at regular intervals along the path, and several newly created playgrounds also invite you to linger. Coming from Regensburg, the surface is initially asphalt, later changing to gravel.
