Probably best done West to East. First section is gravel path mostly downhill, from concrete structure at reservoir it's tarmac then farm track. Farm track goes through some large pens so if they're full of livestock this section may be impassable or require a bit of walking to bypass the pens.

A nice variation for getting back to Greenock.
