Around the year 833, the Slovakian prince Pribina from Nitra was baptized in St. Martin's Church in Traismauer by the Salzburg bishop Adalram. In Slovakia, he is considered the first known ruler of the Slovakians. The fountain was inaugurated in 1990 by Slovakian bishops and the Salzburg bishop Dr. Karl Berg.
