Built in the 12th century, the church with its characteristic Romanesque architecture testifies to the dual function of the building. With its elevated position, thick walls and small arched windows, it tells of a time when the church served both as a defensive building and as a place of faith.

Ignaberga Old Church is a medieval stone church in the Swedish province of Skåne, built in the late 12th century in the Romanesque style. It's a key example of the region's early church architecture, constructed using local limestone. The church was left to fall into disrepair after a new one was built in the 1880s, but it was lovingly restored and reopened in 1928. It is notable for its well-preserved medieval murals and a high-quality baptismal font.
