The current castle is a well-preserved cultural site famous for its role in 17th-century conflicts, with bullet holes still visible in its gate tower. Today, the castle is a popular visitor destination with a beautiful park, gardens, and a network of hiking trails in the surrounding Hovdala Nature Area.
