Wiesenbad thermal bath,

in the years 1919 - 1921 several drilling attempts were made based on dowsers. The borehole at this point was driven to a depth of 78.6 m. The tapped water had artesian buoyancy and the water temperature increased with increasing depth. This spring with a yield of 175 liters/minute and a constant temperature of 26° Celsius - later named after the Saxon Duke and founder of the city of Annaberg, George the Bearded, who reigned from 1500 to 1539 - is currently the only source in this area and has covered the entire thermal water demand since 1921. In 1998 the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs, Health and Family confirmed the state recognition as a healing spring for drinking and bathing cures and the designation as a "fluoridated thermal spring".
