Coming out of San Rafael on nice gravel, first 10 km will warm you up for what's coming. Grandiose Tenorio Volcano starting to rise up. Road is paved from here, luckily, which makes climbing a bit easier. Inclines are insane, my GPS couldn't measure any more as I was spinning only 50rpm and 3 km/h. On your breaks enjoy the nature and refuel on few local restaurants along the way.
