The author and organizer of the idea, arch. - prof. Algirdas Žebrauskas.

The first small 23-bell Žemaitija carillon in the territory of present-day Žemaitija was cast in the famous European and world-famous Dutch bell casting factory "ROYAL EIJSBOUTS" for the 600th anniversary of the christening of Žemaitija. to commemorate the anniversary year (2013 - 2017). 1417 for the only time in the world history of the Catholic Church, a diocese was established not by the Pope, but by the will of the Council of Constance - MEDININKA Diocese. The place chosen for her by Duke Vytautas of LDK is in Varniai. in 1864 Bishop M.Valančius of Žemaicai and his curia are exiled from Varnii to Kaunas (an essential factor in the Lithuanianization of the city). In the territory of the historical Diocese of Žemaicai, 1926. after the establishment of the ecclesiastical province of Lithuania, the largest of the three dioceses remains - the Diocese of Telšiai. The bishop's throne is established in St. Antanas Paduvietis Cathedral, and the new diocese, starting with the prominent Telšiai bishop J. Staugaitis, continues the traditions of the historical Žemaicai diocese (1417-1926).
