The Adebar family also nests on the church and a kestrel has been raising its offspring on the west side in the center window for years. The NABU uses a small information sign to indicate the diversity of species flying around this church.

Already in pre-Christian times there was a holy place under the today's area of the church of St. Martin in Sievershausen - that proved excavations in the year 1953. Also the old yew trees, as pagan sacred trees point out. The first small church, about 6x8 meters in size, was built around 990. Later Sievershausen became an ecclesiastical center (archdeacon) to which many families came to be baptized, for example. According to them, the church was shortly enlarged to the west; including a first tower, but barely higher than the church roof.
