Weihnachtsberg and Vereinshaus Niederwürschnitz

Our Christmas mountain is an oriental-mechanical representation. It shows the life and work of Jesus Christ in the Holy Land in 48 scenes on an area of approx. 25 m².The moving figures are carved and painted from wood, the landscape and the buildings are based on the pictures from the picture Bible by Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld.The mountain is maintained and operated by the Christmas mountain and carving association Niederwürschnitz e.V., which, like the Christmas mountain, can look back on a history spanning over 100 years.Source:weihnachtsberg.de

If you arrive by car, you can park in the car park behind the Tenne.

The Tenne is a restaurant with a terrace.
The carving club is housed in the club house and a beautiful Christmas mountain can be visited during Advent.
If you have little dwarves with you, you can use the playground opposite.
The cycle and hiking path, which also leads through this car park, is part of the Karlsroute that runs from Chemnitz to Kalsbad.
We follow it a bit along the Würschnitzbach in the direction of the railway viaduct.
A few meters later, we turn right. The path continues through a small railway bridge in the direction of the forest and to the Höhlholz Stadium Neu-Oelsnitz. A small path leads behind the stadium and then you end up in the Höhlholz settlement. These were previously built as miners' apartments.
The path leads straight through the settlement houses and in the small car park you keep right again and head towards the forest. At the edge of the forest, keep left and pass a garden area back towards the parking lot at the Tenne.
