Wonderful path elevated on a dam next to the natural Mühlbach. The path leads beautifully through the Mühlmatten nature and landscape conservation area west of Hochdorf. It is the largest wet meadow area in the Freiburg Bay. It was declared a nature reserve in 1998 because of its importance for endangered species. The central nature reserve with 40 hectares is surrounded by a 17-hectare landscape conservation area. In spring 2024, a large part of the low-lying area was clearly dammed by wooden dams built by beavers.
