Shachihoko are mythological Japanese animals with lion's head and carp body and are usually found in all Japanese castles, as they are supposed to provide protection. These are located in "Shiromidai Park", which is on the right side of Himeji Castle. A great photo opportunity - Himeji Castle, framed by two "Shachihoko".
