For those who want to avoid the road. Best asphalt path in beautiful countryside, just extremely steep.

After you have overcome the stress of the traffic at the Teinach station, you will find a great cycle path here. It runs through the forest, separated from the country road, although the traffic noise cannot be completely blocked out. From the Teinach station up to Neubulach, the climb is relatively steep - a good endurance workout. At least there are sections that are less steep, while the short sections on the flat or slightly downhill offer a breather.

Be careful when descending. The path is about as wide as a regular road lane or as a car and is sometimes quite winding. The trees make the curves difficult to see. In addition, the path can be relatively dirty, i.e. full of branches, "dirt" in the form of tree needles, earth, stones... just nature, which not only requires full concentration and control of the bike, but can also make braking difficult. There is a risk of accidents: while you can go downhill at high speeds even with a standard bike, oncoming traffic is obviously moving much more slowly uphill due to the steep gradient!

In addition, you need to be particularly careful and ready to brake at the junction in the upper third. If you continue straight on instead of turning sharply right, you end up on a gravel track towards the Teinachtal with several nasty water gullies, which, in combination with the high speed, can quickly become tricky for inexperienced riders.

For all those who want to practice the fast downhill ride of an alpine stage and chase their best times, you should therefore consider whether it might not be better to take the road downhill (alternatively the road from Altbulach to Seitzental).
