The name of the villa comes from the surname of a family of winemakers who settled in Gdańsk at the beginning of the 19th century. In the 19th century, it was built in stages according to the design of Karl Hofacker. It was located between Dolinny Młyn and Potok Kuźniczy. where Freudenberg's brickyard was located. An area of 2 ha was built around the villa-castle. a park with a pond, an orangery, a winery and an outbuilding where the gardener lived. During construction works, its owner, Fryderyk Wilhelm, died. From 1922, the residence was inhabited by, among others, by the Danish consul. It was also a favorite place for musicians to visit the Forest Opera.
Around 1942, the residence became the property of the NSDAP, and after the war in 1947 it was municipalized. The 19th-century winery and orangery were destroyed in the 1980s. Only the castle, built of clinker bricks, and the outbuilding, resembling Alpine folk architecture, have survived to this day.
