Popular excursion destination: Schwarzenbach Dam

At around 2 km long, it is the largest reservoir in the northern and central Black Forest. From the car park, I walk past the Hotel Restaurant "Schwarzenbach" on the west side of the lake to the dam. The traditional hotel has been closed since 2011; it is quietly falling into disrepair and seems to be dreaming of better times. There is much more life at the kiosk opposite, where day-trippers and motorcyclists stop to take a break and treat themselves to a refreshment. There is a small boat rental on the shore. Here you can rent pedal boats, rowing boats or electric boats and use them to explore the lake right to the furthest corner.
