The castle was built around 1800 by the von Warnsdorf family. The owners were then the Haber family, the Stille family, the von Karstedt family and Christian Friedrich Georg Carl Lahusen. In 1945 the owners were expropriated and evicted. The castle park, the remains of which have been preserved, was laid out by Peter Joseph Lenné after 1835 and redesigned by G. Potente in 1910. After 1945, the castle was used as a cultural center with a cinema and dance hall, a doctor's and dentist's office, an auxiliary school and a boarding school.
