Admittedly, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of trees in Herrenkrug Park, each one an individual.
In a storm in June 2017, this tree was badly damaged and lost a mighty branch that extended far over the path. This branch is still lying at the foot of the oak tree and anyone who visits here often can literally see how nature is reclaiming the branch; how the bark is peeling off over the years; how beetles and other animals have made their way through the wood of the tree.
