The Dorfkirche Lostau is the Protestant church of the village of Lostau in Saxony-Anhalt.

It is located in the settlement of Alt Lostau near the Elbe and was built as a fortified church between 1150 and 1200 using quartzite rubble from the Pretzien quarries. It is a three-part staggered building originally from the late Romanesque period with a wide west tower, nave and choir. The tower stands at right angles to the nave of the same width. The east choir was built on a square plan. The choir windows on the north and east sides are the only window openings in the building that are still preserved in their Romanesque design. The original main entrance to the church was on the south side. A simple half-timbered extension was probably built at this point in the 18th century.

The protestant parish would like to greet you warmly and welcome you. We hope that you feel at home here and that this beautiful place becomes your home.
As in many places in our region, our church is the oldest building in town. Built between 1150 and 1200, it was the center of village life for centuries. Badly affected by the Thirty Years' War, it was restored around 1650 as we see it today. Around 1700 it received the then fashionable half-timbered extension on the south side. The church has always been a place of protection and refuge in difficult times.

At night the tower is illuminated from the inside.
