The section from Lautenthal to the dam is marked here, a very beautiful section. The cycle path does run along the road, but you don't ride directly along it, but so far off it that you feel like you're riding through the forest.
The cycle path is asphalted on this section (Lautenthal - Innerste Dam), but this is not the case on the entire cycle path.
