The old forest hut is located at the junction of the Forchheim-Willersdorf route with the old Rennweg, which runs along the back of the "Lower Mark" from about north (Schlammersdorf) to south (descent to Hausen) to almost 400 hm.

There are two benches behind the old forestry hut.A minute from the hut, at the forest intersection, there is an information board about sustainable farming and another seating area.
