  • Dautenstein Castle is a former moated castle in the area of the present-day municipality of Seelbach. The last Geroldsecker, Count Jakob, died in 1634 in Dautenstein Castle, which was built as a "Staufer castle" in the 13th century, as stonemason's marks show. The current building complex, which is privately owned, dates back to the new construction in the first half of the 19th century and only occupies part of the complex. Dautenstein has been declared a "cultural heritage of the state".
