It was only a few years ago that archaeologists discovered these foundations of an ancient amphitheater just outside the ancient city of Volterra. It resembles a smaller version of the Coloseum in Rome and, in addition to the classical theater in the city center, is the second Roman theater to be admired in Volterra.
