The Teutsche Paradeiß not only refers to the point of this highlight, but rather around the entire Fichtelgebirge.
In 1692 the magister and pastor Johann Will from Creussen traveled the Fichtel Mountains. He recorded his impressions in a book, which he gave the title "Das Teutsche Paradeiß". Will had come to the conclusion that the Fichtelgebirge resembled many of the descriptions of the Garden of Eden from the Bible.
