Ávila is a charming city in the autonomous community of Castilla y León, Spain. It is known for its impressive medieval wall, which completely surrounds the old town and is one of the best-preserved walled enclosures in Europe. The wall, built in the 11th century, is 2,500 meters long, with 87 towers and 9 access gates.

In addition to the wall, Ávila offers many other places of interest, such as the Cathedral of the Savior, which is embedded in the wall, and the Royal Monastery of Santo Tomás. The city is also famous for its gastronomy, especially the Ávila steak and Santa Teresa egg yolks. 😎⛪🚶‍♂️

It is the highest city in Spain (1,130m) and has been a World Heritage Site since 1985. The rectangular old town is surrounded by a 2,500 m long Romanesque city wall that was built at the end of the 11th century. It has 90 towers!
