The Borchêne is a Belgian stream, a tributary of the Gileppe and therefore part of the Meuse watershed.

This Ardennes stream has its source between the hamlets of La Louveterie (municipality of Limbourg) and Vervierfontaine (municipality of Jalhay) at an altitude of approximately 350 m. From its source to its confluence with the Gileppe, this forest stream serves as a boundary between the municipalities of Limbourg and Jalhay. After a course of approximately four kilometers in a north-east direction, the Borchêne flows into the left bank of the Gileppe some 300 m. downstream from the dam.

In 1872 the Borchêne dam was inaugurated to supply Verviers industries with water, five years before the Gileppe dam was built. In 1897, after a typhoid fever epidemic in Verviers, the sluice gates were permanently closed, since then this lake has long been used for swimming and fishing.
