The Mies (Czech: Mže), also called Miesa in German to distinguish it from the town of the same name, is the left source of the Berounka in Germany and the Czech Republic.
It is about 103 km long and flows into the North Sea as part of the Elbe river system (Berounka -> Moldau -> Elbe -> North Sea).
The most important settlements on the river are the towns of Tachov and Stříbro as well as the city of Pilsen.
