The tower of the Großdalziger church in its current form was first mentioned in 1664, the nave was completed in 1776. During the Second World War the bronze bells had to be handed in. An air mine that detonated in the neighboring reed meadow in 1944 shattered the window panes. Between 1949 and 1990 the congregation managed to maintain and improve the condition of the church. In 1990 extensive repairs began in the interior, on the roof, on the tower and on the facade. An old painting in light green, gray and white became visible, which served as the basis of today's interior design. Instead of the bronze bells, three cast steel bells were installed in 1958. The aim is to equip the church with a new bronze bell and bell cage.Source: kirche-leipzig.de/gemeinde/grossdalzig
