Chantonbury Ring. Nothing there from any civilsation. No toilets, water, bins - it's pure nature.

The trees were formed into a ring for a visual to help ships to identify Shoreham Port hundreds of years ago.

It suffered badly in the storms in the 80's. There was a fence around which has since been removed about a decade ago.

It's used to be a green route (byway) so people could drive to it but Wiston Estate has long since banned that so disabled people are now banned unless you buy a purpose off-road electric buggy.

Recommended for June at sunset. The sun sets in the weald and creates a spectacular scene to watch and take photos.
