The museum is located in the former monastery provost built in 1531 and today portrays the furious finale of the first religious war on German soil. The small museum manages the balancing act between historical rooms with wall paintings from the 16th century and modern exhibition design. Figures of saints, liturgical manuscripts and relics are impressively presented between animated card tables. In addition to the battle, visitors learn a lot more about the city and Reformation history of Mühlberg and, through the permanent exhibition, get to know the former prisoner of war camp and later NKVD special camp, which was located here in front of the city.
