In 1860, the painter and architect Victor Melior (1820-1910) built a house for himself and his wife Berta née Block in place of the dismantled outer mill gate on the bridge over the Seemenbach. The sandstone building in neo-Gothic shapes leans on the southwestern bulwark, which has a cast-iron parapet, and integrates a guard window from the old gate from 1494.
