The Hangelstein is a fine FFH protected area with beautiful paths, but unfortunately a B3 that can be heard almost everywhere. Nature lovers will find unusual plants and basalt formations. The adjacent quarry is quite unspectacular. The bottom line: The Hangelstein is worth a visit and definitely enjoy the view of Gleiberg, Vetzberg, Altenberg and Dünsberg.
