The church stands on a hill in the middle of the town over strong substructure walls. The hall building is made of ashlar and quarry stone and ends with a gable roof. The ashlar stone masonry on the east side with a tall rectangular slit window is thicker in the base. These are remains of the late Gothic predecessor building. There are three arched windows on the south side and an arched portal in the north. The tower is a half-timbered building with an octagonal top and is planted as a roof turret on the east side.
The hall, which is flat with a wooden ceiling, has a single nave and has wooden galleries on the west and north sides. In the east there is a baroque-style pulpit altar from 1716. This makes it the oldest surviving pulpit altar in Middle Franconia. The sandstone altar table is late medieval. In 1955 the church was renovated.
