The Holy Cross Chapel was built in 1870 to replace an older, dilapidated chapel. The previous building was erected around 1700 at the junction of the roads from Neudenau to Allfeld and Höchstberg. The chapel was partly constructed of solid brick and partly of half-timbered construction. The new building, with a cruciform floor plan, was erected in 1870. Since its renovation in 1989, the chapel, which belongs to the Archdiocese of Freiburg, has been used primarily for Protestant services.
