StoryAs early as 1937/38, a power plant based on the Arno Fischer design was built on the Iller with the Iller dam 7 - Maria Steinbach. The advantage of this version was the camouflage, which was important for the war effort, the few roof areas were covered in greenery and the power plant itself could be completely flooded by lowering the dampers. However, the cost savings that were also touted later turned out to be a miscalculation.According to the Arno Fischer design, level 7 went online on the Iller in 1938, level 6 in 1943, level 5 in 1944 and level 8 in 1948.In 2014, a fish ladder was built and in 2015, an observation tower was built in the underwater area. The power plant is operated by Lechwerke AG.
